HQ VISU Designer
HQ VISU Designer runs inside PowerPoint, keeps .pptx as the industrial screen source, configures templates, charts, behaviors, and bindings, and exports screen packages that HQControl can load.
It is responsible for authoring, not site runtime. After the screen package enters HQControl, the runtime platform connects tags, permissions, alarms, and trends.
Use it when the project needs PowerPoint-based HMI source files and screen package export.
Keeps pages, templates, behaviors, scripts, and export output in one workflow.
Runtime data, permissions, alarms, trends, and deployment are handled in HQControl.
Product Usage Path
Confirm where the product sits in the delivery path, then continue to installation, configuration, extension, and acceptance details.
Build pages, templates, popups, and behavior in PowerPoint.
Choose chart templates, then bind tag series or JSON field mapping.
Generate the screen package for later runtime loading.
Deliver the package to HQControl for tags, permissions, and runtime.
Where the plugin fits
HQ VISU Designer owns screen authoring, chart configuration, and export inside PowerPoint. Menus, languages, permissions, tags, alarms, trends, and licensing are handled by HQControl after the package enters runtime.
Industrial screens, chart configuration, and reusable patterns are built inside the PowerPoint plugin.
Teams can work inside PowerPoint instead of adopting a completely new industrial screen tool.
Exported screen resources continue into HQControl for site data and runtime capabilities.
Authoring-side capabilities
Keep screens, charts, behaviors, and export output in one PowerPoint authoring workflow so later binding and runtime handoff are clearer.
Line Chart, Bar Chart, Gauge, and JSON Chart templates support data series, tags, units, precision, JSON field mapping, titles, legends, grids, and other appearance options.
Overview pages, device pages, popup pages, and animation pages can be organized in PowerPoint.
Reusable screen patterns and interaction blocks can be saved and reused across projects.
Clear screen structure makes object binding and runtime handoff easier to control.
Page scripts, global scripts, button actions, animations, and state colors are managed in one plugin workflow.
The plugin supports online / offline licensing, full-package export, and current-page export.
Review chart configuration step by step
Chart configuration should be checked in delivery order: choose a template, bind data fields, then verify the HQControl runtime result.
Open the Chart group in the Templates panel, choose Line Chart, Bar Chart, Gauge, or JSON Chart, and place it on the current page.

Set the chart name, Tag, color, unit, precision, and appearance options in Template Edit. For JSON Chart, complete the data source and field mapping.

After exporting the screen package, verify that line, bar, gauge, or JSON charts render correctly in HQControl with site data.

Capabilities authored inside PowerPoint
A simplified view of common behavior results: color, animation, text, and click interactions are configured in the plugin and delivered with the screen package.
Switch fill, border, or visibility by a true / false rule for simple running / stopped or on / off states.
Blink color, border, or visibility by rule to draw attention to alarms, exceptions, or states that need action.
Map numeric ranges to colors for continuous values such as temperature, pressure, or level.
Map a variable to horizontal or vertical movement for sliders, mechanical positions, or travel distance.
Bind text to a tag or script expression to display site values, units, state labels, or computed results.
Write a variable when an object is clicked for page navigation, switches, mode changes, or simple control entries.
Platforms and boundaries
Confirm platform, version, install method, and licensing before production use.
Runtime platform
Officially targets Microsoft PowerPoint desktop on Windows.
PowerPoint version
Managed around the Office16 family: Microsoft 365, Office 2016, Office 2019, and Office 2021 desktop editions.
Install and bitness
Installed for the current Windows user. x86 and x64 PowerPoint are supported.
Licensing
Supports online activation, online verification, offline request export, and offline certificate import.
Workflow coverage
Page scripts, global scripts, template editing, full-package export, current-page export, and common behaviors are covered.
When to use it first
Use it for early design expression, template extraction, and screen delivery preparation.
Early screen expression
Useful for proposals, reviews, and confirming screen structure.
Pre-delivery screen cleanup
Turn scattered pages into reusable structures before runtime handoff.
Local updates and single-page replacement
Revise one page, export it, and replace it without rebuilding the full package.
