HQ Scan
A free, standalone offline TIA project point-preparation tool. Read a local project or archive, turn DB points, symbolic addresses, and types into reviewable lists, then export Excel, CSV, or JSON.
Useful for early project inventory, system migration, brownfield upgrades, and delivery-list preparation.
Use it before HQControl, another SCADA / HMI, or a custom system.
Extract, filter, and review rules in batches to reduce copying mistakes and import rework.
HQ Scan only prepares points. The customer chooses any downstream software after export.
Product Usage Path
Start with the task at hand, then review installation, configuration, usage, and acceptance details for this product.
Prepare a TIA project or archive that opens correctly on the engineering machine.
Scan DB points and narrow results through rules and filters.
Choose a general format or a target-specific import file.
When to use HQ Scan
Use HQ Scan independently whenever a TIA project needs point preparation—during early inventory, migration, modernization, or delivery review—then choose Excel, CSV, JSON, or a target-specific import file for the task.
Prepare DB points, symbolic addresses, and type information from a TIA project or archive.
HQControl is not required. Use HQ Scan independently once the engineering project can be read.
Export Excel, CSV, and JSON for general use, or generate import files for a selected downstream system.
From engineering project to usable point list
Move point copying, address review, and classification into one free tool, then continue with any downstream engineering workflow.
Read DB points, symbolic addresses, and data types in batches from the TIA project.
Use DB scope, PLC names, keep rules, and exclusion rules before handing data to another tool or engineer.
Use Excel, CSV, or JSON for general workflows. Choose Tag, alarm, and trend templates only when HQControl is the target.
The real scan workspace and Rule Center
See project selection, DB scope, point results, and rule configuration without decorative overlays obscuring the product UI.
Platform and dependencies
HQ Scan scans local TIA projects or archives only and does not connect to a live PLC. It depends on the local engineering environment and access permissions.
Platform
HQ Scan targets Windows desktop environments.
Dependency
TIA Portal and proper Openness permissions should be available on the machine. HQ Scan does not provide online PLC scanning.
Version records
Project packages should include the TIA version and engineering environment information used for delivery.
Use cases without downstream lock-in
Use HQ Scan for free whenever a TIA project needs a reviewable point list.
Prepare data for another SCADA or HMI
Export Excel, CSV, or JSON for another configuration tool, HMI, data platform, or custom system.
Prepare HQControl imports
When HQControl is the target, review Tag, alarm, and trend candidates before generating its import files.
Create an engineering handover list
Turn PLC points, addresses, and types into a reviewable list for design review, handover, or project records.
Continue
Continue with environment checks, scanning, rule review, and reusable result export.
