Mingcedar Share turns a selected local folder into a LAN file workspace. Users sign in through a browser to preview and exchange materials, with file actions controlled by account role.

Positioning
From a local folder to a browser workspace
Select a shared folder, configure user roles and start the service. Browsing, previews and file actions share one LAN entry point.
Users can only browse and operate within the configured root folder.
Use desktop apps on Windows or macOS and systemd on Linux. Check Downloads for available platforms and architectures.
Preview and file actions emit runtime logs in the desktop app or Linux journal. Retention depends on the deployment.

Core capabilities
Review materials and exchange files from one LAN page with lightweight deployment and clear permission boundaries.
Viewer can browse, preview, and download. Operator adds upload, folder creation, and rename. Manager adds deletion. Accounts are managed on the host through the desktop or CLI.
View images, PDFs, text / code, Markdown, CSV / TSV, audio, and browser-supported video before downloading. Office files still open after download.
Downloads stream content. Upload requests default to 512 MiB including selected files and form overhead; duplicate names are saved under a new name.
The startup flow detects occupied ports and suggests an available one with a clear status message.
Windows supports tray controls, launch at login, and Explorer integration. macOS supports menu bar controls, launch at login, and Dock restore. Linux can run under systemd.

Sign in with a configured account to access the shared folder. Change the initial manager password before LAN use.
Sample materials are listed with name, size, type, modification time and permission. Manager can upload, create folders, rename and delete; available actions depend on role.
Preview supported materials in the browser; download Office documents to open them. Text preview is limited to 2 MiB.
The desktop app displays the shared folder, port, bind address, access addresses, and activity log. Sharing is running in this Chinese-language macOS view.

Support
Platforms and boundaries
Configure the shared folder, listening port and bind address. Account roles determine the file actions available in the browser.
Windows desktop operation
Use the Windows EXE to configure the folder, port, bind address, tray controls, and current-user launch at login. Login startup opens the app only.
macOS desktop operation
Requires macOS 13 or later. Install the app from the DMG into Applications. Supports menu bar controls and launch at login; check Downloads for package architecture and availability.
Linux service
Run on Linux with a dedicated hqshare user and systemd. Runtime settings are stored in config.json; the environment file points to the executable and config.
Network boundary
Bind to the required internal IP and restrict source networks with firewall or VPN rules.

Access and data boundaries
All users share one root folder. There are no per-file grants, recycle bin, or version recovery. Default HTTP has no transport encryption; use a controlled LAN or VPN.
