Rule Center applies keep, exclude, alarm, and trend rules to the reviewed scan result.

<h3 id="rules-item-1">Read source and field format</h3>

<p>Confirm the source and fields before defining keep or exclude rules. Keep-name, exclude-name, alarm-name, and trend-name rules support plain keywords plus <code>*</code>, <code>?</code>, and <code>%</code> wildcards. Plain keywords use contains matching.</p>

<h3 id="rules-item-2">Accepted rule syntax</h3>

<p>Separate rules with new lines, commas, or semicolons. Empty entries and surrounding whitespace are ignored. Plain terms perform case-insensitive contains matching; <code>*</code> and <code>%</code> match any number of characters, while <code>?</code> matches exactly one character. Written wildcard boundaries are preserved.</p>

<h3 id="rules-item-3">Review rules before reuse</h3>

<p>Use stable area codes, device codes, function names, or standard suffixes. Before reusing a rule file, check the project&#39;s PLC names, DB numbers, delimiters, classification suffixes, and exclusion terms.</p>

<h3 id="rules-item-4">Classification fields you can edit</h3>

<p>The alarm and trend pages let you set include and exclude name keywords and an analog deadband. Name rules set or clear alarm and trend flags. Other classification fields and the scan period require configuration outside Rule Center.</p>

<p>Results start with configured classification defaults. Rule Center name rules then adjust alarm and trend flags, while the analog deadband is set in Rule Center.</p>
